Ricko
Hi, how widely available are .22 shotgun cartridges, and what sort of price is anybody paying if they use them? Cheers
Rimfireboy
The cci ones are daft money, but Winchester crimped .22 shot shells are about the same price as other .22 ammo if I remember right. On the few occasions that I’ve bought any I’ve found them easily enough. If you want to shoot much further than three yards, I wouldn’t bother. I bought 100 Winchester super X .22 shot shells about five years ago. Still got about 90 of them. 9mm garden gun Flobert are much much better. Ricko
Thanks for that. I've got a W&S No.3 9mm garden gun and have been offered a similar one in .22 cal. Is the .22 W&S a No.1 garden gun?

Ricko
Hmm, I've never seen a No.2 garden gun. Do you know if W&S did them??

neutron619
I've been struggling to find any practical use int he UK for a 9mm garden gun. I imagine the .22 version might find some use for killing bluebottles... indoors.

Pigeon Shredder.
Seen the 9mm dispatch a few foxes after being cage trapped, certainly does the job.
DEADLY PLUMBER
My mate has a 9mm. very useful on rats around the farm. up to 20 yards it fires a tight little pattern.
Ricko
Managed to get some, not everyone stocks them it seems!! McAvoys had some new stock £6.10 for 20, little plastic domed tops in which you can see the tiny shot Bamfords rooted out a bagful of Eley brass crimped tops £10 for
thomasbeaton
I found the .22 shotshells were useless after a yard, problem is I think because I'm firing them through a rifled barrel the shot is spinning and when shot onto paper you were getting a nice circle edge and no shot in the centre, totally pointless imo.
