Agriv8
Afternoon collective, I wander if you can help. i have a 525 sporterised trap gun about 2007 / 2008 vintage IIRC The Foreend keeps splitting and being a trap it’s very thin above the ejection kickers. It’s been glued 2 or 3 times but it’s only lasting a few months. It may be able to be pinned but I would like to investigate a replacement from browning. They still seem to be on the website but will only sell to registered accounts. Anyone have contact details of a gunsmith with an account who can get me a price it’s a grade 1 the gun is a keeper so don’t mind putting a couple of hundred quid into it. My local Smith doesn’t and struggling to find someone who does. Hope you can help thanks Agriv8

Old Boggy
As above, send Welshwarrier a PM, he will sort it for you permanently. He repaired a smashed stock for a pal of mine and made a cracking job of it. By comparison, that fore end will be a doddle to him. My pals old English gun looked totally irrepairable, smashed through the hand of the stock even with bits missing, but is now back in service. I was only looking at the gun yesterday and the repair was completely invisible. Well worth a try. I'm sure that you won't be disappointed. Fil
I seem to remember calling Dave at BWM a year or two ago for a replacement fore end wood for a 525 Browning for the same reason and I think he said the fore end wood supplied now is wider for the newer Brownings which have wider o/d barrels. The old fore end woods are no longer available. So if you do order a new fore end wood there will be a gap between your barrel and the wood. Best option is a repair.
