Mungler
Phil made me two irregular sized grills for an outside drain. They fit better than a glove. Well pleased. Now the missus will stop bending my ear about it getting it done.
Hunter
Now thats great!! It really didnt look right when I made it, but I told myself to trust the measurements. Im very glad it fits alright! its very difficult to make something that you can test fit or actually see Good stuff, an apologies for the delay

Dunkield
I thought it was Mung's bedroom window, until I noticed the pipe on the left Hunter, Do you have the tools to make me a muzzle brake if I provide you with a drawing?

Keep meaning to get one of these bits of kit.
Mungler
It's all in the taking of the dimensions of course.... Seriously though, couple of taps with the broom handle and a good snug fit. It's at the corner of the patio and to stop the kids toys rolling into the drain and muggings here having to scoop them out. Very pleased it's done - one of those niggling jobs off a very long list. EDIT: Anyone got a large chainsaw and all the garb local to Essex - I need to take a few branches off at the weekend.

It's for the .223 Nick, my next goal is to try and turn it into the ultimate off hand gun (whne the moderator is off it) do you think Neil will do centrefire work? Hunter
Muzzle breaks and mods should be built VERY tough unless airgun/rimfire pressures are involed. I dont want to risk making a CF mod that will take 2000PSI or more sorry, but I like to fix things, not blow someone apart UK neil may do it though.. just make sure its got a proof mark on the mod. Only required on the thread when its new if you wish to sell the gun, but I would never touch a CF mod unless it built by a good brand, without a proofing mark. Can be fatal... Dunkield
OK, no problems, thanks mate. I think you worry too much though My gun has so far been: Threaded (un proofed), chopped byt 3" and re-threaded (un proofed), and it has a PES mod on it (un-proofed) So as you can guess I won't be getting a muzzle brake proofed Although, as a qualified engineer, I do appreciate the pressures involved, and I absolutely understand your concerns about liabilty etc . . Im not comceraned so much about Liability... I truly (froma a non legal side) dont want anyone hurt. My rifle that was threaded is also unproofed, I have never heard of a thread failing on a firearm. But its at the muzzle where the pressure is no longer contained in the bore, it needs to be tough enough to take the exiting pressure. I would gladly make you one though (when my lathe/mill arrives) providing it got proofed etc. Most US custom rifle sights sell them at good prices. Dunkield
UK Neil has said he will do me one for £25 or so, so once I have drawn what I want and he has done I will put the pictures up. I just need to work out how much clearance is required on the bore, and I waiting for an answer from my mate on that one. I will keep you posted :thimbs:
monkeyjaimz
Just a thought phill, have you ever thought about making pellet traps / target holders for airgunners? could make a few quid on here doing that i'd say Jim
