redial
I found this today in a charity shop. I have one similar but the tools on this seem a bit more heavy duty. Would that be down to it being an older model ? Unfortunately the corkscrew is missing from the first coil. I can live with screw cap wine. bluesj
Is it one of the non Victorinox ones can't think who made them but they were better than the Victorinox ones
walshie
I don't think it's Wenger either. That symbol looks a bit iffy as the Swiss Cross is rotated. I suspect it's a copy, but a decent find nonetheless.
Longstrider
The tools look chunkier because they are. Probably due to them being made more crudely and from lower quality steel than the true Victorinox models. A good find for a 'beater' knife, but I'm a blade snob

Previous models had inconsistencies, some were excellent and some were dire, whereas Vic's were produced with excellent QC. Wengers come second to Vic's everytime in my book. Still, you can't go wrong at £2:99 for a 'bung it in the bag 'coz it might come in handy' knife! 18 hours ago, oldypigeonpopper said: hello, i would be interested in a swiss army knife i have, it has a black handle and many tools and large blade, what year ? i know it must be 50 years at least as my fishing pal died 20 years ago at 75 ish and he bought it late 20s, Any idea of the maker ? (Should be stamped on the base (ricasso) of the large blade) Certain models are very sought after by serious collectors.
