Gerry78
Cheers mate the guys I hunt with all use variables scopes but I like to be old school lol Point and shoot looking forward to getting it set up 👍
walshie
I don't even own a variable scope. I've got 6x42s as above and 8x56s on my 223 and 308. So much less faffing about. Even my "garden gun" Ruger 10/22 has a cheap 4x32 on it. It's all personal opinion anyway. If you like it, use it. I do. Gerry78
Yes Walshie a man after my own heart keep it simple Fella I wildfowl with went to Scotland last year and spotted a deer he said he messed about with a new variable so much the deer went back into the woods before he was comfortable taking the shot lol Now not saying variables bad no way just average shot like me a fixed scope easier for me cheers mate 👍👍👍
Sussex gardener
I think that the s&b pm 6x42 was used by the British forces as it's sniper scope in the 1980's-90's so should be a very robust design.

robbiep
I've got a relatively old S+B 6*42 on my 223 foxing rifle - it's the scope originally fitted when it was new in 1989. Light transmission in great, and as long as the Mk.1 idiot on the trigger does his job, it drops foxes very nicely.
