Walker570
A member on here asked me to make him a pair of my Bergara leg pinchers, so I thought I would put a brief run through of making these up for him. they ain't pretty but they don't have to be as long as they do the job. Cut some mild steel off a large piece of angle iron on my scrap heap, 1st picture, then shaped each piece to around the right shape and inletted the head which will contact the buttons on the leg, then a bit of fettling and filing to get them matched up, drilled a swivel hole and used a piece of 6 inch nail as the pivot, took off the rough edges and bent the arms slightly so that they matched up when pressed together. A quick check on my seat to see they worked and 1hr 15 mins later a set of pinchers.
billytheghillie
What are they for?
Walker570
As said they are for use on Bergara seat legs. Some of oldies thick arthritic fingers cannot press the buttons in to slide the legs up or down, so I made a pair of these for myself... now there are two pairs in the country
