Short car insurance period?

Hi

My daughter comes home from uni for a month and I need her to be mobile. My car and 4x4 are insured through Adrian Flux who won't add drivers less than 25 years old.

I don't want to have to insure and tax her old car just for a month, besides I've sort of given it to my son for when he passes.

I've not attempted to get a quote for putting her on my van!

Does anyone know a way for her to get one months insurance on my car that's not going to break the bank??

Don't know about cost, but a quick google search for short term car insurance produced several possibilities.

You can get short term insurance on cars from 1 day upwards. You'd need to check if you can have 2 insurance policies on one car though.

I looked at similar and the cost for a month was nigh on a yearly premium for the little car

i bit the bullet and put the small car on the road with it’s own policy me as driver with no claims (as it’s used on my other car) and another user and pay the tax monthly. Works out not far off.

Could you put tax and insurance on her car then cancel after a month?

I think the tax will pay you back the remaining length, insurance might do as well? 

When you sell a car with insurance left (I pay yearly) I think they refund you what’s left.
