pavman
Off on hols next month, and the old telescopic rod has seen better days. Ideally I would like a boxed set comprising rod reel and associated kit for the normal fishing off rocks holiday situation. Obviously needs to fit in standard suitcase and not weigh a ton! My local tackle shop has no demand for them but I am sure I have seen them somewhere all in a nice plastic case, thing is I cant remember No jokes about my Telescopic Rod required! Hardy
This the sort of thing your looking for travel outfit at that price it's got to be class equipment Hardys used to do a nice cased set but I guess you wouldnt be flyfishing & it was a tad more expensive - never found a way to justify one for meself! Cranfield
I would stick with a telescopic setup, depending on the fishing you intend doing, you can normally find a combo to suit your needs. The Shalespeare ones are OK. Where are you going ?
vole
http://www.swiftys-fishing-tackle.co.uk/ca...e0cef6170e67fda I have had a few travel rods. This is probably un breakable.I hefted an 8lb pike onto a high jetty last year with my 4 pce 6 foot Ugly Stik travel.Reel loaded with15lb braid.Shimano STC great too. They do a tiny tele also.I think the Ugly could land most reasonable size fish.I plan to use it for ultralight spinning for anything that is daft enough to bite in Ireland again. Can imagine it is up to light tropical stuff like trevally too.Great fun rod.Have bust telescopics before now. digger
Where you off to and what you fishing for Pav ? I have a six peice Shimano in a travel case that easily fits in a suitcase and has never let me down on Tarpon to 40lb. A great spinning rod capable of lobbing 100gm lures big distances. I also have a decent telescopic rod with a casting weight of 60gms that at the time of purchase cost almost as much as the exage. More than welcome to borrow either for your hols, pm me if you want to know more as they wont be used til another bash at trevally and tarpon in October
