I note them with squirrels, however I try and handle rats as little as possible. Just idle curiosity, really
Walker570
I don't keep individual records these days, only totals but do have a quick look with foxes and tree rats. I know in the last three months we have shot more dog foxes than vixens for sure.
old man
Interesting thank you. I may have to consider this as I wondered if its of any value to someone? My reason for asking is that this week the tree rats that expired first outing 4 were sub adult non lactating females, and 1 old buck, second outing 4 sub adult males and 1 old lactating doe. This lactating doe is the 1st seen. Previously not taken an interest in sexes or breeding condition till the start of April. Difficult to age the tree rats but the older ones seem to have much more body density. Up until the start of April was lucky to average 3 per week now recording 10 per week at present from April the 1st. Thanks Steve.
Dekers
Foxed the only ones I check specifically! Rabbits I often note but they are commonly obvious. Edited May 9, 2019 by Dekers

Walker570
Shot two tree rats this morning, both mature, one male, one female but the female was showing no sign of having had or having a litter. Now there was three on the camera, so the third one may be the breeding doe....I'll check tomorrow morning
