panoma1
I see the RSPB are crowing that the seabird population on Lundy has trebled because they have "murdered" (emotive anti and protectionist term!) the offending pests/predators! In this case rats.....in doing so they have confirmed predator control is beneficial to and necessary for the protection of species they wish to protect.......that is conservation, so what is the difference between what they have done, and us shooters controlling pests/predators such as Crows, Magpies, Wood pigeons etc to protect agricultural interests and at risk, red listed, song and ground nesting birds?.......Perhaps someone should ask Packham, Avery et al?....oh! Sorry I forgot........to them killing things is ok as long as they agree with it and you don't enjoy it!.......

When "IF" we are Gone what we do now for free in the conservation role, will still need to be done by somebody at some point. BY who? Who is going to pay for all this? And whoever does it wont be allowed to get any job satisfaction and if they don’t go home at the end of everyday heartbroken, would surely risk dismissal. No one. Now one will pay a single penny for it and they won't care either. That's the problem. Children these days are all inside on computers looking at pictures of animals and not actually outside seeing them in person. A wife's friend/work matr has told her children that chicken nuggets aren't made from chicken and grown on trees so as to not upset them. I wish I was joking. My 2 year old knows where her chicken comes from and that's the way I'm going to keep it. Reality never hurt anybody in the past.

Scully
A farmers wife was last week talking to me about the GL farce, and mentioned a time some years ago when some Isle or other was over run with rats or some such vermin, it was decided they would home the local hedgehogs temporarily elsewhere. Ah what volunteered to take some, but when she revealed where she lives she was told she would be unable to receive any as the area she lived in was known to house many badgers. 🤔🙂
