Taxing a car

My terios passed its mot today but the direct debit has expired on the tax . 
any ideas how I can tax it without any paperwork ??? . 
please don’t ask why I can’t get the paperwork as i just can’t currently. 
tried ringing dvla but I can’t get through to a department I need.

Can't you still do it on line.  All the information should be there MOT and Insurance go through automatically.   I have used the post office in the past to keep it open but now my tax is on direct debit for all three motors so automatically renewed as long as insurance and mot are in date.
