Dixie Slugs
I suppose you fine fellows will let into your site a fellow in from over here? I found this site by coming in the backdoor. I own Dixie Slugs, a small USA Federal lincesed ammo maker, ans specialize in the re-introduction of the British Paradox loads for modern guns. Since you Brits did all the reaseach & development on large shotgun bore ammo....all I have had to do is make the same with modern componets. I found this site while doing a search on Paradox ammo and guns. Here in the Southern part of the USA, we have some very large wild hogs.....some running into the 400 pound class. In fact, in amny areas they are pushing out the Whitetail deer. Our Original Terminator load (.730"-730 gr-1200'/") matchs the British 12 bore paradox Cordite loads and works very fine on these big Tuskers. Most American hunters can not afford a fine British gun chambered for these rounds and most use a Remington 870 Express with a 20" rifled 12 bore barrel. Most of the hunting of these big Tuskers is done in dense cover, such as the swamps (bogs) and thick woodland areas. The range is close and you must put the hog down quick! Also.....If you have time, check out Dixie Slugs (dixieslugs.com). Any comments you might have on shotgun bore slugs/bullets, will be welcomed! Best Regards, James Gates@Dixie Slugs

Dixie Slugs
Thanks for the kind welcome! "Coming in the back door" is just some slang from over here meaning I found your site while by accident, while searching for something else. Dixie Slugs
About Dogs! I am from the South and we are dog people! When we had good populations of Bobwhite Quail, we use both English Pointers and Setters. Sad, but DDT hit our Upland birds bad. Now it's the Nile "Bird" Virus! We still have some excellent Dove shooting. We also raise dogs for hunting wild hogs. Our dogs are trained to trail and bay, not catch. My dogs live with us! If I learn to post pictures, I will post a picture of my best bitch.......she is half bulldog and half Black-Lip Cur. We also have areas where dog hunting deer is popular. Florida is in the sub-tropics and maost game feeds at night. The dogs get them up and run them toward our "Standers". It all very traditional and has strict rules! In fact most all Southern hunting is very traditional! Regards, James
