TRINITY
Hi guys, I am sure this may have been discussed in the past but to me it has some grey areas. I am not thinking about transferring a gun from seller to buyer, but more about transferring a gun to a registered dealer for a repair or alteration. As I see it,the post office for instance would be quite happy for you to send a gun in the post . Also as long as both the repairer and myself are both legally allowed to posses the shotgun, and can satisfy each other of this fact, then is there a problem with this. I would still contact your FEO in writing prior to sending.
CharlieT
Yes, you can. I have done in the circumstances you describe. It's perfectly legal, so no need to get the police involved. I use a hard case for protection whilst in transit. Never had any problems.

CharlieT
In all honesty, I haven't a clue. I live miles away from any town or carrier depot so have always used Royal Mail as one can arrange and pay it online and they will come and pick the parcel up. enfieldspares
Interestingly "transactions involving the Proof House" are exempt from the terms of the Firearms Act.
Big Mat
I have done this on a number of occasions, the RFD usually sends their choice of courier to make things easy.
