marsh man
What about a little drop of petrol , or a very small glass of sprit in your drinks cabinet , any left over in the glass you can drink it at your hearts content .
mel b3
Just try mixing a few drops of varnish with a drop of thinners , you'll soon see if they react to each other. You also have to be careful that a mixed solution doesn't react with a previously varnished surface , or that the varnish doesn't dry too quickly 👍. Capt Christopher Jones
I would only use white spirit or Turpentine I have just refinished the Teak window board in the bedroom 8 coats hemple gloss, cut back to fill the grain, finished with 3 coats International Satin, denibbed with 0000 grade wire wool after spraying the finished surface with furniture polish Edited August 18, 2020 by Capt Christopher Jones

That should be fine , its spirt based . All thinning does is to allow the first few coats to soak in deeper . And to build a base for further coats .
