Got a letter yesterday from NHS to ask if I would take part in a in-home antibody testing research study, apparently it's a finger ***** test you do yourself. Well got on website and filled in the application form and questionnaire, and now await the test to arrive in the post. I cannot wait for the result as I have only visited a doctor twice in my life for minor problems never had flu or a cold only had two weeks illness in 55 years at work. 😃

My wife has done it twice. First test came back as inconclusive IgM (I think) positive but the second one came back as negative.

a friends young son (16) did it and came back as positive despite not having any symptoms at all. Even a sniffle.

Have you ever given blood?

No I have a phobia of needles.

Reason I asked was they do a P test for your iron levels, sometimes depending on who does it the reading can be low, so P squeeze then wipe, the first bit of blood can be watery, squeeze again and use the redder blood for the test, hope this makes sense.

After finding my wife playing away I was tested and those little needles don’t go through my skin . I had to use a Stanley knife to bleed .

Needles don't like scar tissue.😎

I did one last week at work just for my own interest. Not at all convinced tho...for a start, the lance thing didn’t work so I had to dismantle the little plastic thing and stab myself with the resulting pointy thing.

Came back negative on both antibodies and current infection.

I am 90% sure I had WuFlu in March so was disappointed no antibodies but then when I researched the test itself you cannot buy that one anymore as they are not at all accurate. So all I ended up with was an irrelevant result and a hole in my finger.

An accurate widely available antibody test will make a massive difference and I hope we get one soon.
