Have you seen in the news today about illegal dog fighting? What i would like to know from any antis reading is what are they going to do about it, they are quick enough to put their monitors in to legal sports such as driven game because they know they are safe from reprisals. So why not track down these yobs? Um scared s--tless maybe, could antis have a yellow streak?

Don't hold your breath Browning :)

Get on Moochers and see the anti that has inflitrated the ranks.

There is a programme on tv soon based on his 'findings'

While I disagree whole heartedly with the 'sport' of dog fighting he has had the opportunity to get in with keepers and other legitimate people digging for reynard legally and it won't make good viewing to us that know otherwise

I can't get into moochers. The log in works (apparently) but I appear not to be allowed to view or post anything and I don't recall posting or upsetting anyone on there before (not one of my regular haunts).

I would however add at this stage that I am not a mole - everyone knows that I work undercover for a national newspaper and not a television station.

My indepth article on administering sound thrashings on the competitive clay shooting circuit is nearly complete.

Yours in cover,

Unfortunately the anti’s know that they are pretty safe with shooting people as we follow the law. Any attack on these spineless ba$tards would be followed by a complaint to the CC and a review into our firearms ownership.

These dog baiters are a different class of animal though and couldn’t give a toss about the law as they have nothing to lose, and as such would be very dangerous to any anti who sought to try and film them or intimidate them in any way. Chances are they would end up having the **** kicked out of them……..or worse.

Like most loudmouthed do-gooders they are too frightened to actually go after something that may turn around and bite them. :)

Too true. They are out of their depth with these people.

Coincidentally, out of interest when was dog fighting outlawed in the uk?

I have owned and worked most kinds of dogs all my life, including lurchers and terriers in the past, but I have no time for dog fighting or baiting, nor for the people that do it.

You`ve probably guessed by know that I like Bullterriers, I own 1 & a Staffordshire (a real one, she weighs 35 pnds). I saw Panorama last night & found it rather disconcerting that some of these people

could own 20, 30 or 40 fighting dogs & that the police didn`t know about it.

Personally I believe that APBT`s if given the correct breeding & owner can make great family pets. If I remember corrcetly the DDA came in due to pit attacks in the late eighties, the lines of these dogs possibly came from the dog fighting lines in Holland hence the problems with them at this time.

In America, other countries as well, they have lines that don`t have these problems because they have been removed over generations of legitimate breeding. The same seems to be happening again

except the government can`t ban the breed now.

In the 1920`s the Pit bull was the most popular dog in America, used for herding & pinning down bulls till the ranch hands took over. They were used to keep the wolves & mountain lions etc away as well, but for the most part they were a family pet, at a time when no mercy was shown to any nastiness in the house.

It was the same for the Bullterrier & Staff, these dogs lived in the house with the family (the poor didn`t have kennels back in the 1800`s) any nastiness in the family was stopped with a bullet. For this reason these dogs had most of the bad blood removed, hence the nicknames of the Staff "the nanny dog", the Bully "the clown of the dog world".

If I remember correctly dog fighting was banned in 1835 but wasn`t really reinforced till the 1920`s.

But here we are again, seems like a vicious circle with it all coming round again.

What struck me about the dogs was how eager they seemed to be for human contact even though they were being abused.

Hope they lock the scum up but the way the Gaelic footballer got off with it doesn`t fill me with hope.

Could have done without the sensationalist approach of showing & commenting on that little girl who got killed, after all it was her uncles dog (him being an allegedly known drug dealer) who apparently let his dog terrify the local kids because he found it funny. Which is just another case of the wrong person with the wrong breed of dog, although he possibly shouldn`t have had any type of dog.

Personaly I love bull terriors I had a very loyal example that lasted for 15 years and left me a few years back but any one who is pit fighting dogs or badger bating is scum in my book. I have nothing against killing any animal that needs thining out but cruelty for the sake of entertainment is disgusting. As is prolonging the time it takes for the animal to die. IMHO the people that do this are not wired up properly.
