sharp_shooter
Fix the decoy to a fence post or hedge that is clearly visible from all angles then place a dead crow/magpie below it and pretty soon it will kick up a fuss with the local wildlife

Cranfield
Tell him to save up and buy a BIG owl. I have used a teddy bear with big glass eyes as a decoy for magpies and crows. Its important that they can see the decoy from some way off, so it needs to be large, especially if you need cover nearby for your hide. Lurch
Like Cranfield says, it's the eyes they go for - bigger the better.

SgP DK
my friend just got a little owl decoy......any 1 got any tips on how to use it to decoy crows or magpies. I use a little owl to protect my cherry form starlings, where it is very useful. But it don't help against blackbirds, but I don't have many of them.
