humperdingle
Looking for a recommendation for a varnish remover for a shotgun stock. I used Nitromors years ago but most reviews now seem to suggest it has changed in quality for the worse.
strimmer_13
I use this and its alright, 2 coats and it's biting alright. I tried the cheap stuff from screwfix and I might as well of just ****** on the wood. This is a old bottle and don't know if it's still for sale, but nothing beats the old nitromors 😢
ditchman
try Rustins ...its just as bad.......it does work eventually....cover it with the gunk and wrap it in clingfilm ...leave it for 40mins...and brush it off with a stiff plastic bristle scrub brush..........repeat maybe 3 times and wash in warm soapy water..........then put it somewhere to TOTALLY dry out....before you start to lightly sand it down.... regards the chequering....use a soft bronze wire brush....dont use it like a scrub brush.....gently sweep the gunk one way... I need to strip some varnish from inside my boat, this was about £25 for 5lts. Its a milky product unlike conventional nitromores & really doesnt need to be "wrapped" to keep it working. I was quite impressed with it Edited November 8, 2020 by Capt Christopher Jones

old'un
Been stripping an old oak barley twist table, its been a nightmare finding something that will do the job like the old Nitromors, most of the new stuff is rubbish since they banned all the best stuff. humperdingle
Great, thanks. I’d looked at the Diall after looking at reviews for Nitromors, which suggested the B&Q own brand was better.
