squirrel shooter
Looking for honest reviews from people who have shot/owned an SX4. I owned an SX3 Black Shadow. I could never get the comb high enough, and the black shadow model I had rusted quite bad. Looking at buying a SX4 camo mainly to be used for wildfowling and rough shooting. Many thanks! Free range Rob
I bought one brand new, put about 70 carts through it and don’t get on with it, sits in the cabinet now, will try it again when I have some more time, it may be up for sale after that
aister
All the synthetic stocked SX3's and SX4's I have held have been too low for me but the wooden stocked ones have been fine. Might be something to look at.

Shadowchaser
Can't speak for the SX4 but have an X3 and it's my favourite clay buster. There are still a few around for sale brand new. Edited November 28, 2020 by Shadowchaser
Woodman 2
I own the SX 4 and shoot it quite well after some work on the synthetic stock. It shot low and left from the factory and its a breeze to alter impact with most semi autos. The gas system is identical to the Browning Gold and Silver as they share the same parent company. It is a simple effective gas system that runs fine with most loads. I shoot mostly 7/8 oz. loads in mine at clays and doves with no jamming. The SX4 has the backbored barrel with an ID of .742 and a longer forcing cone with decent tubes from the factory though I shoot Trulock tubes which have .005 increments in constriction. When cleaning be sure to lube the gas piston after using a very aggressive degreaser, it needs a little lube to move freely.
figgy
Sx2 is front heavy and lots don't get in with it. I looked into them before buying my sx3 years ago. Sx3 grey shadow with wood stock and forend is the best of them all. Or buy a browning Maxus, the stock and forend shape is better for some. I could never get the SX3 synthetic stock to fit just right, always a little shuffle in the shoulder with it for each shot.
