Hello, when you consider Chinese factory workers making phones at a few dollars a day is it any wonder most goods are made in China,

Its all about the scale of production, when China sets up to make something it is intended to be for a world market and they make millions. Try to produce just for the UK market alone and the costs go up too much.

Besides which, China is a communist country and everything is notionally State Owned.

News Flash - ports could be open in a couple of hours!! well that is what popped up on my phone. I wonder if it has taken Boris to make a phonecall going "Look - we only wanted to justify our decision to cancel Christmas so used this to scare people into submission"

Woops - the bacofoil is running low again - hopefully there is some left in the shops - it helps keep my head warm :D

Went for an unscheduled panic buying/stockpiling expedition this afternoon. Wasn’t too bad. Masses of ‘entertaining’ type food available. Clearly people aren’t going to be entertaining. The only shortage I saw was bread (it was late in the day) and dishwasher tablets (bizarre).
