tikkamark
The first pic is of 31crows and 38pigeons i got over a field of wheat stubble for about a five hour session they were coming in in small numbers but any that did commit to the pattern were sorted out i was using eley realtree pigeon 30grm 6 1/2's there a great shell i was hitting some woodies at a nice distance and killing them stone dead in the air great feeling that some of the crows over the pattern While i was decoying a fox strolled by out of range so i thought id try going in after him with the lamp and .223 later i did exactly that with a mate of mine called shane but didnt see him :o We tryed another stubble field just up the road and seen one vixon i rested the gun on a bale and squeezed off a shot and much to my delight she dropped she was approx 120yards away the accu-tip struck her in the neck and split the shoulder blades apart leaving a mighty big wound very distructive bullet most explosive i have ever tried in my 223,i didnt get a pic as the camera was back at the car We went to a second spot another stubble field this time the far side of my town we called in a vixon i nailed her in the head and another fox was coming in directly behind her totally undetered by the shot and very loud thump she stopped a long way out later stepped out at 195yrds she was looking at us with her head low down trying to look under the light i aimed at her chest squeezed and she dropped bullet entered into the tip of her nose exited her mouth then entered her chest then believe it or not exited again through her back one very dead fox :o There was still two foxes the far side of the field which is very big we said we would try and gain a bit of ground on them this kind of worked but the fox was lying flat in the stubble couldnt see a thing only its ears my mate tried a mouse squeek this worked and the fox sat up but just walked off and just at that moment another fox entered the field serious amount of them here the shot was a bit dangerous as it was against a ditch that i didnt know what was behind so we waited until it came away from the ditch which then made the shot safe safety off foxy looking straight at us squeezed then the fox just flopped over, bullet made another mess but killed him without a twitch I carryed the lamp then and let shane shoot we crossed a ditch and seen a fox sitting looking at us in a large grass field he fired no thump foxy ran off he was fairly disappointed but it happens us all at some stage we had to head back to the car at that stage because some numpty left the bullets back in it seen two more foxes on the trip back typical On the way home we tried a private lane which shane saw a few foxes when he was out with the dogs i shone the fields on the way down.......bingo big fox trotting out of a lads farm yard shane loaded up the tikka and rested the rifle on the roof of the car i gave a hand squeal and the fox liked that and crossed the field then stopped in the middle of the field a long pause...crack....thump it was a lovely shot into the neck at 150yrds and cheered him up no end after the miss earlier The fox was a huge big dog fox with a big mane round its neck not to often you see that All the tails from the night

Thanks lk you made a good decision going for a .223 its a super caliber for foxing imo the balistic tips and hollow points really do the job very happy with mine its really quiet with the mod on the end Conor your really missing out the pigeon decoying is savage craic you get some varity of shots and when you set the pattern up correctly they spot it from a long way out and come straight in nothing more satisfying Cheers magman and tulkyuk

tikkamark
no prob mark very sweet rifle :( them accu tips are deadly in it from what i can see might get me dad to come out wit me some night to hold the lamp and try ta get a fox with the shottie counted 11 grey crows today on a rock couldnt get near enuf for a shot :o might try early some morn. 30g no.6 are pleanty on crows and pigeons i was even sureprised by the distance that they will bring them down if hit right. The accu tips are a serious bullet they expand a lot more than the v-max hornadys for some reason there not cheap though €30 for 20 but are worth it im hitting fairly well at all distances with my tactical i leave the scope at 7.5power and this works for everything theres a fairly sweet reticle in the kahles nice fine center which helps place the bullet with pinpoint accuracy Jeff I have bought a samsung 6mp camera it takes nice clear pics and is fairly small which makes it handy to carry around when your out and about, only figured out how to take a pic in the dark for the last fox shane shot get the fox in the centre of pic and turn off the light flash and an infra red thing do the rest had the lamp turned on for the pic with the three foxes and there was to much light really  I will have to practice my photography Frank I dropped the pigeons into daniel he has a good few in the freezer now plenty to go around anyway there all lovely big woodies I heard your young ferrets have started working well for you already they will be champion workers id say :o I can taste that venision already Cheers john i was kept busy that day great bit of sport though
