I have never seen so many people out in those remote rural locations, MOST of whom have driven to get there. You are more at risk from catching Covid in a 'remote rural location' than the local shopping precinct. I am sorry but I am fully behind the Police and their actions in enforcing the lockdown rules. I try to walk daily, the emphasis being on WALK ! How do you manage to get to all of these remote rural locations to see all of the other people there? Do you walk to all of them? Do you walk to all of them? No, prior to the current lockdown I was able to drive the 25 miles to a fishing club water and it was during that time I made those observations. I will/can not drive there at this time, even though the fishing ban has been lifted, but I have spoken with other members who live within walking distance and have been down to the water, they tell me it is now probably worse that last years lockdown, in numbers of er.........'Ramblers'. 90% of these people are driving out from Manchester and surrounding areas (Tier 4 for some considerable time !) . Quite right, but I have no reason to doubt the word of my fellow members. My own observations are based upon the increased numbers of people around the water and their cars abandoned along the main road near to the reservoir, prior to the most recent lockdown. Bearing in mind fishing has only been allowed for 2 days in the curent climate. One of the walking routes around my home takes me over a canal, the crowds of doggy walkers, cyclists and ramblers on the towpath is incredible. I do not walk along the canal.
