Ian Holmes
Hi, can you help me buy my first shotgun, but I am working to a budget. Hope to use your experiences as what is the best to look at. My brother shoots a Rizzini & is selling a Baikal, friend has a Miroku. I have a budget of £500 What do you think I should be looking to buy? What is a decent gun for the money? Should I look new or second hand? Any advice, thanks
Andy W
Depends on what discipline you are going to shoot, a multichoke sporter is always a good bet at least it is vertasile but then again it depends which gun out of those 3 will fit you, if I had to choose it would be the Miroku depending on what model it was, you could pick up an early Miroku 3800 or one of many Berettas for £500. Baldrick
Yep, a Lanber or a Miroku.
Windknot
If you can get a good 3800 for around 500, grab it (provided it fits you, and you can hit things with it.) A Lanber for the same money will give you multichokes and a brand new gun (Mendip SG has them for £480 at the moment.) Bettinsolis are cracking guns too, and worth looking at- they sell for around £550 new, about £400 S/H
squodged
Buy a Miroku for that money as after all it's a Jap Browning. You'll be hard pressed to get any kind of O/U Beretta for that money, but you should get a semi-auto if they fit you. Lanbers, Betinsolli's, Franchi's are good gun's but I wouldn't be suprised that after a week of owning one of these you'll be hankering after a Browning/ Beretta. Just remember try as many as you can!!! And don't buy unless you try it first! As what feels good in a shop could be a swine on the shoulder after a box of carts! Good luck!! bobby t
go for a secoundhand miroku beretta or browning they are around in your budget if you look hard, much better than an equivalent lanber rizzini or bettinsoli, baikals are ok for banging in fence posts but will never let you down, if i had one gun to go intot eh jungle with it would be a baikal, alhtough a little crude they are around £150 . cartridge
But to answer your question, People have told me Razzini are very good
Gordon R
Rizzini are not on the same planet as Miroku or Beretta.
Baldrick
The chap I shoot with has a Rizzini as his back-up gun, and it is hideous. It feels really clunking and heavy, compared to a sleek Silver Pigeon or Miroku/Browning.
pin
Simple answer is find one that fits, if you don't know what fits then find out. Then buy one which fits you and you can afford. Sounds like I am being flippant, I promise I ain't. Doesn't matter one iota what make really, if it don't fit you will shoot like a plank and give up anyway.
