mattsccm
My Mossberg .410 pump has a 9 (ish)inch mod on the 28" barrel. It's like a Tower Pattern musket! I came to me like that. It's too long for the cabinet without unscrewing the mod and also for all my gun bags. There is scope to move the mod down the barrel several inches without it touching the muzzle. Any reason why I shouldn't do such a thing? Increased noise maybe?

mattsccm
Answered my own question. Between the mount and where the baffles start is a void about 5" long. I started with the muzzle at the lower end of this and dropped the mod until the muzzle was right by the baffles. Bloody loud to the point of sounding just like a high velocity .22 round through my dads Browning pump. Back to where it was I guess. strimmer_13
If its the cabinet problem, I had the 12g moss with the silencer and I found a old but still legal, locally advertised cabinet which had a extra large shelf built inside. I bought it, got the angle grinder out, cut the shelf out and the gun fitted in perfectly with about 2inch to spare. Maybe worth a thought. I do every time with the one on my .410 .

udderlyoffroad
I have a 20b Mossberg Hushpower pump. I also have a ‘rifle’ cabinet with an ammo safe on top. A 50 mm holesaw and some panel edging strip later and I can fit it in the cabinet.
