Being a Police officer in the UK

How do you tell the difference between a British Police Officer an Australian Police Officer and an American Police Officer?

Answer:

Pose the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.

Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes

around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises

the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an

expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

UK POLICE OFFICERS Answer :

1. Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

2. Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

3. Could we run away?

4. What does my wife think?

5. What about the kids?

6. Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

7. What does the law say about this situation?

8. Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

9. Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of

message does this send to society and to my children?

10. Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

11. Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just

to wound me?

12. If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

13. Should I call 999?

14. Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a

paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would

discourage such behaviour.

15. If I raise my gun and he turns and runs away, do I get blamed

when he falls over running away, knocks his head and kills himself?

16. If I shoot him, and lose the court case does he have the

opportunity to sue me, cost me my job, my credibility and I will lose my family

home?

AUSTRALIAN OFFICERS Answer:

BANG!

AMERICAN OFFICERS Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG!

Click.... (Sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG!

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click.

In the USA you can kick the **** out of someone trying to steal (with a baseball bat). If you did that here you will have a criminal record, jailed/community service, huge fine, no job, firearms license taken away etc etc.

Police pull their guns out and they get a pasting for showing "dangerous" weapons in public.

The UK is in a real mess, everyone is taking each other to court and health and safely is ridiculous as said in another post, what has this nation come to, where has the GREAT gone from Great Britain?? :D

The most frequent use of the word is now in the context of non indigenous immigrants welcomed by our hand out government.

That was a GREAT Halal Curry

That was a GREAT Islamic Prayer meeting

That was a GREAT rip off of the BRITISH TAX PAYER (Benefits cheats)

That is a GREAT council house they gave me

That was a GREAT score of smack purchased with my hand out or stolen from some old lady

Are we getting the picture!

Please call an election soon I wish to voice my opinion

I've often wondered if, when carrying say a shotgun on the way home from shooting, one is attacked and forced to defend oneself and shoots the attacker dead, it would be deemed reasonable minimum force. If the attacker clearly physically outmatches you, you need to use whatever weapon is at hand. But I wonder if it would be argued in court that you should have first used the gun to club the attacker rather than to immediately resort to lethal force.
