  1. And if it doesn't, a proper beating with something heavier would do the job right? And probably do the same thing would keep one's kids in line too.

    Proper Flu

Had it about 10 years ago. I was burning up and drenched in sweat couldn't get out of bed. When I did, there was an outline of me in red in the sheet where the dye had been leeched out of the mattress. Looked like the Shroud of Turin on Ready Brek.
  3. We have NowTV entertainment and kids. We watch the main channels on our old Sky boxes. We watch sport down the pub. We watch movies on Kodi because watching streamed movies ISN'T illegal.
  4. Portray me as you like. We will be forced to take steps appropriate for wartime to resolve this ongoing assault on us. And there will be hand wringing from those who hope it will all just go away if we are nice to each other.
  5. I'm not too worried about that. And this whole Islamic terrorism situation is going to get a lot worse before it gets better, if it ever does, and I believe 'we', as nations under attack, will have to eventually take drastic steps to resolve it.
  6. Yes I do believe it's acceptable. And I really don't much care about your opinion.
  7. I want it, a lot of people that I know want it. These people that the security services know about should leave their homes one day to go to the shops, then bag over the head and bundled into a van and off on a one way trip to a Guantanamo type facility. Followed by zero publicity and a total denial response to any questions. I don't really care who decides. The level of threat should be encouraging or planning Islamic terrorism. I specify that because it can never be stopped by negotiation, it's about a hatred of us and our way of life.
  8. Coming home tonight, the thought flitted through my mind, "It's Friday night, probably some terrorist shootings or bombings will happen in Europe."
  9. So you think there haven't been enough heartfelt opinions expressed here on the weighty issues affecting the world today? I suggest your observational skills might need some work. Maybe it's a bit of a relief to discuss something relatively trivial, so more people put forward a comment.
  10. The reason I'm on this forum is that my wife put a bird table in our garden. It attracted the rats that ran along the nearby stream and I was happy to shoot them. One day I said to her 'You realise these rats are dropping by for the bird seed you put out?' Next day I looked out the window and there was a large rat on the table wrestling with a slice of pepperoni pizza she'd put out for the birds instead of seed, cos I'd told her not to. Jeez!
  11. I have a Seiko Chronograph I bought off Ebay, new but missing the box, 7 years ago for just under £50. I wear it every day, I've changed the battery once, which I did myself, and I can't fault it. I'm getting a bit bored with it though so I'll be spending £60 or so on a Pulsar Chrono off Watchshop.com after payday. I have an Omega Speedmaster that I would wear, but it's stopped and will apparently cost about £400 to get it serviced. I'm not doing expensive watches anymore.

  13. She will be committing political suicide and setting her party off into the wilderness if she doesn't sign it. My view is that she would trade the EU for the ability to surround herself with those that will support her 'security' agenda.
  14. She's not a fan of private ANYTHING.

    knife law

You don't need a reasonable excuse for a sub 3" non-locking folding knife. You are expressly permitted to carry it unless you use it as an offensive weapon. You could equally use your pencil as an offensive weapon.

    knife law

I have a penknife in my pocket all the time. Sub 3 inch non locking. When I got to work it's in my pocket and if I go to the pub it's still in my pocket. The only time I don't take it with me is if I go to a football match.
  17. I've not voting. If we don't abide by the result of the referendum I'm never voting again. And I'll do it loudly.
  18. Worth bearing in mind that, whatever Sky claim, we have no accurate idea how anyone voted, regardless of age, sex, race, education or whatever. Only that a number of people in a certain area voted one way or the other. The rest of it is assumption. And we can see where assumption got the Remain campaign.
  19. Yep, and that's why the government shouldn't have taken sides on this once they had called a referendum. They should have prepared for both eventualities. I suspect they did but because they took a side, they are still trying to make the Brexit side look bad.
  20. The young working class 'out' voters were suffering the reality of being in the EU, the young well off 'in' voters were quite happy with the opportunity to laze around drinking and playing video games like they did at uni, while they could impress pretty Eastern European girls with their good jobs and cash.
  21. Totally agree. What I really took from it was not that they are pro EU but that they don't want to be bothered and keeping the EU status quo allows that.
  22. I work with a lot of people in their mid to late 20s. They are intelligent and relatively well paid. When I got to work yesterday the office was in foul mouthed meltdown directed a the 'old Hitlers' that have now ruined the country. The consensus was that the EU protects these youngsters from unpopular laws that our government might pass and all we need is some very clever people to be in permanent charge of running the country as they see fit, and leave these young people to get on with enjoying life. Enjoying life is pubbing, clubbing, sitting at home playing computer games, going to Ibiza etc.
  23. And neither do you. Watch the news. What's happening tonight is down to Russian 'Ultra' hooligans allied with French hooligans attacking English fans. They've been doing it from the start of the tournament, appearing, causing aggro and disappearing. I have no doubt that there are English troublemakers there but the Russians are already on a UEFA charge from 2012 and the videos are clearly showing them instigating violence. Edit: adding this link http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/russian-fans-balaclavas-attack-england-8170297 Jeez, even the BBC is now reporting that England fans are being attacked by Russian hooligans. English women and children trampled in the stadium as English fans flee attack from Russians.
  24. We only ever do well in minority sports.
  25. Russian 'fans' breaking through the barriers in the ground and attacking England fans. Reports of Russian soccer hooligans armed with knives and metal poles ambushing England fans. 'Eyewitnesses said a group of Russian hooligans had grabbed chairs from outside bars and cafes and then smashed them apart, using the metal legs as weapons. Some discarded legs were seen on the ground, covered in blood. Onlookers said the area looked “like a war zone”.' 'There were claims in French newspapers that about a dozen hooligans from Paris had joined with Russian ‘ultras’ - hardcore fans known for their violence - in a surprise attack on the English.' All down to the England fans though of course.
