Now they want peoples opinions on it? Edited March 9, 2022 by TIGHTCHOKE Spellage!
enfieldspares
Well having sold out everybody and without any consultation even of it own members to achieve a "de facto" ban it will be easy for any future virtue sugnalling government to say that as (I can imagine the words used) "BASC as the Voice of Shooting has in any case agreed to a voluntary ban our proposed legal band merely gives "de jure" confirmation of the existing state of affairs which is a "de facto" ban accepted by the sporting community five years ago...." Reminds me of Dylan Thomas a "Do not go quietly". Or rather the opposite. Seems that in the case of a lead ban which for some shotguns will be terminal either as steel is unsuitable or bsimuth too expensive we haven't merely just gone quietly we've actively flagged down the hearse, opened the coffin, climbed inside and ourselves shut the lid with relish. It is madness. Yet where are the members calling for a vote of No Confidence in BASC's management?
rbrowning2
The transition to non-toxic is going really well…….not ! https://wildjustice.org.uk/general/new-research-lead-levels-in-pheasant-meat-havent-reduced-two-years-on-from-voluntary-transition-to-non-toxic-shot/ cartridge prices up by some manufactures yet again this month, soon few will be able to afford to shoot so it will matter not what comes out of the end of the barrel. Scully
It doesn’t really matter what WJ think as lead hasn’t been banned, and it is still perfectly legal for game to be shot with lead. The ‘phase out’ is voluntary, and if folks don’t want to use lead they are perfectly entitled not to do so.
