Novice
Has anyone any experience of long term usage of express cartridges using their biodegradable earth wad? Just wondering how they stand up to exposure to damp or wet days and whether you've had any problems with the wad or seal degrading before use? Smudger687
From what I gather, the earth wads are more like the bioammo wads than they are to the water soluble wads of eley and gamebore. I've left some bioammo wads outside in the garden for months now and they show minimal signs of break down, so they'll be fine for damp trips out. TIGHTCHOKE
Yes I am lead to believe the Bio Ammo wads are designed for composting, so as you say take a while.
Novice
Thanks for the comments folks, will see how I go. Look a decent cartridge on paper anyway.

Just my 2 cents - express is going to max out at size 4 steel. Bioammo on the other hand do offer a true size 3 steel cartridge, which has a bit more punch, and they pattern very well too. Smokersmith
Yep … 3’s are a good size in steel.
grahamch
Makes me wonder why they go to all the bother of high tec wads, Jocker do a good card board wad for steel which is cheap and biodegradable!

Their card wad is not up to the job. I used some of their 21g 7.5 loads for clays and they scored the forcing cones on my gun. Whether that was down to the wad being inadequate, the steel shot being too hard, or a combination of the two, I do not know. I can say that their card wads are very thin when compared to the card wad of the gamebore silver steel.

So that they can position the product at a higher price.
