12 bore moderators

It seems to me that at least one of the handful of 12 bore singles I have would be a good candidate for a moderator. Not worth anything so nothing to loose by taking he bead off etc and at least it might leave the cabinet then. Thing is, to my knowledge all the 12 bore mods seem to be made for screw in chokes and an old AYA Cosmos  or H&R Topper isn't so equiped. 

Anyone seen a 12 bore mod that mounts to the barrel like the Hushpower .410 one does?

Yeah saddlery and gunroom  make a 12 just like the. 410 version .

Or at least they used to .give then a call they are very helpful and can make specials to order .

Hello, as above, I still have mine from saddlery and gun room to fit an old BSA , better if the single barrel has no rib like mine , 28 inches so will cut down to 25 , and most most important fibre wads only,

Hello, Mel made for a 410 but I can see no reason a 12 bore version could not be made, maybe Mel will update how he's getting on ?

Well darn me. I didn't see that one from S&G last time I looked. About 10x the value of the guns I have though!   I wonder where that DIY thread is?

Just pm melb and I am sure he will explain.  The 12 gauges I have seen have always looked bulky compared to 20s and 410s..  Would certainly need to be a single in my view.

It has to be said 12 b doesn't moderate particularly  well given the big hole in the front ,compared to 20 or .410 obviously  but it will make it nicer to shoot a single 12b all round .

It will recoil less, probably balance better .certainly  be quieter , just enough to not need ear defenders is a big plus in my book .just shoot some nice 24 grm clay loads through it that are cheap and enjoy .
