I clean my .308 every time it is used, even if it only fired one shot. I bought the rifle new in 1989 and the bore is perfect, as is the grouping. I’ve told him times that you don’t need any qualifications to start a gun shop. He is actually very knowledgeable about what he sells new, because he goes on all the manufacturers product launches, but knows less than nothing about older (proper) guns. Dave-G Posted October 5, 2022 Report Share Posted October 5, 2022 My brother and I dropped lucky with rammed rabbit permissions years ago, we both shot out our HMR barrels at about 6k rounds before trying every cleaning option known using up several hundred other bullets and giving up at 7k rounds. replacement barrels sorted the issue on my Sako quad and his annie.
