Return to Canada

A long day to get out to Alberta this year, 26 hours with little or no sleep. Arrived to temperatures in positive double figures rather than our previous trips being equivalent negative temperatures. This has slowed the migration in our favour for a once in a while. Sunday morning started watching the musk rats on the pond behind the hotel before the obligatory trip to Cabelas to stock up on clothing. It was a pretty uneventful if bumpy run out to the lodge. The roosts are all holding wildfowl with one spectacular sighting of ten thousand plus snow geese dropping in to a mass of birds already on the water.

Hunting starts tomorrow morning and I will be posting about our days as last year.

Have fun Dave.  Sounds a great location.

Just had friends return from Canada and at the start of their trip on the Rocky Mountaineer they got picked out RANDOMLY for a covid test and if positive they would have been imprisoned in a hotel for 10 days. Fortunately it did n't happen.

Ah, god bless ickle Justin.
