Rain check time. I can't do a lot. My variation for FAC Air is in and I now have some sample quantity pellets/slugs (22). Problem is is that the medics won't let me drive just yet after my heart op'.

Question; is the hammer spring anti tamper cap omitted on the FAC (SE) version of the R-10. Obviously, there is no (legal) requirement for one and from what I can see from the parts drawings there appears not to be one fitted.

Cheers

Glad the opp went well 👍

If your going for a new FAC R10,  then I'd look at buying from Ratworks, they will set the gun up properly,  to what you want and I think you get a lifetime warranty?

Many thanks on both counts. You've read my mind I think. Was just wondering about the ease and possibility of any gentle tweaking.

I'm not sure what length you need to go to to adjust things, the XTX videos on YouTube should show you, or PM @Ultrastu as I'm sure he'll know.

But I'm not sure I'd trust a FAC R10 direct from BSA, if they don't set up sub12 right what chances with FAC

Can’t do much at present so no rush. Pretty sure Stu will see the post but if not I will PM. All I’m thinking is to tweak if necessary so that some out of the half dozen or more samples that I have meet, or get very close to, the maker’s specification. The 177 R-10 was down a bit but this was easy enough to do while staying under the limit.

Anyone, please.

Thanks, All.  I've stayed with the BSA - I'm of an age and I can't fault my existing non FAC version, but listened and am just about to order a used .22 version

Keep us posted how it goes 👍

Bought and paid for. Will do and whereas I know both RFDs involved will not hang about I'm in the hands of the damned RM for some paperwork. Trouble is, old and cold arthritic fingers plus cold air bottles aren't conducive to  accurate velocity and grouping checks.

Hello, I would not bother, just do the usual target test and get shooting,

Not my thing. Until very recently I've not shot puff guns for well over half a century and never FAC versions. I bought it to use when necessary at its maximum sensible range - pointless having it otherwise when you already have the non FAC version - and consequently I need to ensure that as far as is possible I'm in a clean kill ballpark

Have a look on Ebay for the neoprene bottle covers.

Then I'd try and look for an indoor range, I happily set up in my garden,  and can shoot from indoors,  but I wouldn't with FAC.

Cheers, already in hand but for a different reason which includes moderators. Won't go so far as to say 'clumsy' (yet), but things don't always now go where one would prefer and a metallic 'dink' in the woods is a give-away - another -  albeit unintended -  advantage of shorter shotgun barrels.

Sadly, nothing that can be classed as 'nearby' with the current fuel prices.
