Cranfield
It would be good if this Australian TV advert was shown over here and the gesture became well known.............and well used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unqcoiVhKVY
chunk
*yawn* is this another speedings bad thread? People need to concentrate on their driving and not;use mobiles, tune radios, roll fags, look at the scenery, argue, drink and drive. They need to wear glasses if prescribed. All the video showed were examples of careless/inconsiderate driving, and not giving priority to pedestrians at crossings. Offences in themselves, but not necessarily speeding. If the crusade against speeding reduced the amount killed/injured on the roads, then there would be no argument, but the figures remain the same year in year out. Replacing traffic cops with cameras and then blame everything on speeding to make it look legitimate makes the roads more dangerous.

I didnt apologise for speeding. The point i was making is that while people believe the government line on speeding, they will continue to make money from speeding drivers, all the while reducing traffic departments to save money. Fatalities will remain the same because the root cause is not being addressed and the means to detect it is no longer there.

Sweeping generalisations saying driving fast kills people is no different to saying guns kill people. Most pedestrians that get killed carelessly walked out infront of vehicles and yes if the vehicles were only doing 15mph lots of them would still be alive but the world we live in is fast paced and it aint going to slow down. The answer is responsible driving suited to conditions and not to just jump on the speed bandwaggon cos its convenient. Speed cameras are a money making tool nothing more nothing less.Rant over.
