Bullet seating depth

So only ever loaded 1 round type bang done....lol

Have always had a different size bullet ie use 39grn have some 35 berger hollow point things i got given years ago....heres my question do i need to readjust the seating die depth? And going forward would that be the case for same brand but different weight bullets....thanks

If you look at reloading data you should notice the COAL is often different for differed bullets. That's the cartridge overall length and it tends to vary between bullet makes and weights which means you will be seating bullets to a different depth. You don't always need to change the depth but frequently do.

Ahh....now thats a spanner.....lol

I know one of the loads i read gave he same oal.....more research required....lol

Seating depth for each bullet is different depending on length but all should be under the CIP or SAMMI max length. 

Personally throw it out the window and get a bullet comparator it allows you to measure the ogive. seat the bullet off the lands 10 thou and once you have your powder charge adjust in 5 thou increments back untill you hit the sweet spot. It's alot more consistent and accurate than measuring the coal. Bullet to ogive (BTO) is the way most people do it now.
