Zapp
Yes, the try should have been allowed, but the SA side, to give them credit where it's due, beat us by defending very well and trouncing us in the line outs. Never mind, till next time eh? ZB
mr smith
The decision on the try could have gone either way.It was a very close call. not close at all i'm afraid to be disallowed when the ball was put down his foot was in the air Just watched the replys again and the tmo got it right. Cuetos left foot hit the touch line before he grounded the ball bet you don't hit a lot of birds with your eyesight. Have only seen the replay a couple of times but have to agree the toe touched the line before the ball was touched down. Now don't know enough of the rules nowadays, as to if thats enough but the video ref does. Your dead right Peter But the tv was only 2 ft away from me and I trust the eyes at that range. I saw Cuetos left foot hit the touch line before he grounded the ball and then his foot went into the air as he grounded. In my understanding of the rules once you make contact with the touchline you are in touch so the tmo was right with his call. It was a pity cause if England had taken the lead at that stage i think they would have won
Cranfield
It wasn't a classic game and didn't live up to all the hype, but then most Finals don't/. I thought England gave away too many silly penalties and at times, didn't seem to have a game plan. The try was close, but I think it was fairly disallowed and South Africa always looked as though they had another gear, which England didn't. Lets not forget it was a great achievement to reach the Finals, a lot of good teams didn't.
