Sound Moderator Advice Required

Gents,

I'm in the market for a new moderator for my .177 Air Arms S410 and think I'll get one of their own branded mods.  The alternative is to get a 1/2" UNF adaptor and put a Parker Hale rimfire mod on it.

Can anyone tell me whether the Q-Tec model is worth the extra expense over their Standard Moderator?

Thanks and regards,

T

Hello, have you looked at the Decimeter , I had the standard AA mod on my 410 , then a slip on MWSS, is it worth the extra £s , no, I have just made a DIY mod for a fiver as good as the SAK on my FX 22, what silencer have you on your S410 ? ,

Thankyou all for your comments so far.

OPP, I have had an MWSS mod on the rifle but yesterday afternoon went to remove it to check the spigot diameter with a view to buying a 1/2" UNF adaptor and found the mod was stuck on.  I had a heck of a time removing it and had to give it a really good farmer's pull whilst rotating it.  Once removed, I found that something in the mod had scored the spigot putting a burr on it that prevented me slipping the factory barrel weight back on.  On inspecting the MWSS, I found it was full of a crusty white substance and assume the baffles are aluminium that have corroded.  I'm not sure how since the rifle is a cabinet queen/garden plinker and has never been wet.  I have managed to stone the burrs off and re-fit the barrel weight and now need to decide on a replacement mod.

Hello, ditch the MWSS and as mark mentioned get the air arms slip on mod, it is what I found to be ideal and quite as many othe makes,

Thanks OPP, I'll certainly be ditching the MWSS.  I'd love to know definitively what's happened to it but it definitely won't be going back on.  It's a right mess inside.

Hello, why not give Matt a pm via the AGF forum, , send some photos, he might replace it , I had one of his first mods when he started selling on the old AGF, as I mentioned my 410 had the standard AA mod fitted and it worked ok, just started making some DIY mods , plastic tube and hair curler/ felt,
