PaulCat
I bought (online) a 10-round magazine for my 17hmr. At first use it was clear something is wrong, the magazine won't stay in the gun, it just doesn't 'click' and falls out. I have two 5-round magazines and both are fine. The seller, a commercial enterprise, suggests I file the gun and/or magazine but I disagree. I'm not filing any part of a perfectly good gun and if I file the magazine I could lose any right I have to return it. Opinions?
scarecrow243
return it as not fit for the purpose it was made for
peacockks
as above. consumer act states that goods must be of reasosnable quality. not fitting correctly is not reasonabe good luck

Its possible one of these printed mags, I had one with the same problem, there were bits of plastic around the locking tang which I sanded off and it then locked it the gun with a click, compare it with the one you all ready have. PaulCat
I don't think it's printed, the surface is too smooth and there's no sign of any flash that needs removing. I've spent a good while looking at it and comparing it with my other magazines, apart from capacity they appear identical. Yet no matter how I insert the magazine, press it in, snap it in, pull forward/back, twist it.........the spring doesn't 'click' and the magazine falls away. It's also a bit frustrating that the (business) seller doesn't answer their phone.

Take a look at the ones that work , and see if you can tell whats different, get a micrometer on it if you have one. Measure how much mag protrudes , its likely something very minor. decoy1979
I'd agree it's not fit for purpose and should be returned. That's obviously easier said than done when they won't answer the phone. Does the payment method you used aid you in any way?
