Yorkshire Great pie

This is the Yorkshire Great Pie I started at Christmas - there was too much going on then to finish it, so all the components went into the freezer.

I damaged it slightly getting it out of the Aga, but all was well in the end.

It contains a whole chicken, several pheasants, pork, pork fat and a couple of wood pigeons. I think the combined weight of the meat (minus pork fat) comes to 6lb.

Well, a lot of juniper berries went in - but also, surprisingly slightly of roast chicken due to the whole being stuffed and put in

I didn't mean my comment to be disparaging its just that I've mixed meats before and I wasn't pleased with the results. I like all the meats individually though 👍

It does look 😋😋😋😋 though, well done 👏

Not at all- there was also a lot of stock and sherry that everything was marinated in - so not just pure, dry meat. I also think the chicken skin added another aspect which was nice.

Yes I think marinating is the way forward and where I slipped up 🙄🙄

Well done 👏
