samboy
Hi gang. Just read on another forum that a chap has been selling rabbits to a chinese restaurant for £2.50 each. I wonder what the chinese are selling them as. I'm glad i don't eat in them places any more.
Shambam1962
Back a few years ago when I was catching large numbers of rabbits, with the lurchers and shooting rabbits with the .22 rim fire, I supplied 2 butchers and the local Chinese takeaway. I would have £1.50 each off the butchers for skinned rabbits and £1 each off the takeaway. It covered our fuel for a few years. I don’t have a problem eating from a Chinese and would be more concerned about some of the places processing food. I was called out to do maintenance on a machine in a heat chilled food factory, which was supplying ready made meals for care homes and other places. Believe me you wouldn’t eat their meals if you seen the conditions.
Bigbob
When i was looking a litter of pups the other day we where blethering away and my mate says the keepers wondering if you would like to do the rabbits on the four estates ?. Turns out he's got a market for the rabbits £2.30 each and wants them head shot or ferreted using your gear and at the end of the session drop them off at the larder ?. It didn't take long to figure out my reply Other end of the scale there's a old guy in the village garden full of rabbit hutches , New Zealand and California's Goes about the spare bits of ground with a sickle and hessian sack cutting grass to fed them and breeds them to eat them . A lucky one gets sold on as a pet
Fargo
Rabbit is good food and in France you’d see them for sale often in supemarkets for 18€. Many east European village people have hutches packed full of rabbits to eat over winter . Same life as a battery hen sadly

Wouldn’t be bothered if rabbit or chicken prob taste good regardless.
humperdingle
I used to take dead bunnies to a Chinese takeaway on the way home and swap them for a meal… apparently the family loved rabbit meat themselves.
alan123shooting
A restaurant I frequent, I was speaking with the owner, the wholesale price was £3.50 and that was for Chinese rabbits, hence no rabbit on the menu
