Hi  Paul   First thing this morning when I took the dog out it was a lovely morning although the sky was Red which is never a good sign , leaving mine at 8.30 it was still dry but by nine o clock the first drops of rain had already arrived , changed My Musto coat as it let water in on the arms and put on my ole faithful Barbour Northumbria , like a straight jacket but keep the rain out , our first drive was duck and the heavens open up and it poured of rain , moved on for a Pheasant drive and then a break , we then decided to give dinner a miss and do three more smallish drives and call it a day , as if by magic the two drives after 11s were in heavy rain and then the cloud broke and we finished the last drive of the day in broken sunshine , so another one under our belt . MM

Met office had it spot on.

no that is as measured by "weather station" with no facility to adjust.

My weather station (which is a pretty old 'cheap and cheerful' one) has a facility to correct the barometer reading (to allow for location above sea level).  May be worth looking on line for a manual for yours if you don't have one.  Most analogue barometers have a screw at the back to adjust for altitude.

i believe the met office air pressure value is issued at sea level.....i check mine and adjust the screw...and give it a tap...

im about 4 metres above sea level here....and my machine is not a Barometer..its an altimeter..Sundo-Alpina (W.Germany)..hand held...........its what i used when surveying for roads in the mountains of S. Sudan in the early 80's
