JohnfromUK
This (if true) has some interesting claims that the whole hunting ban went ahead because of a large 'donation' to a party; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12866059/tony-blair-ban-fox-hunting.html Bearing in mind the reputations of those having the recollections (Mandleson, Blair mainly), truth may not be relevant, but these are the people pulling Starmers strings. I think everyone suspected something along those lines, but I wasn't aware it had been 'admitted' so openly and by New Labour themselves. My understanding was that Mrs Blair had been instrumental in pressuring Blair, for whom it wasn't all that high a priority.
Aled
I knew there had been a financial contribution to the Labour party to ban hunting. Edited December 15, 2023 by Aled
harkom
Bliar&Co dangled this "carrot on a stick" to distract the attention of party members from much more important matters. HeyHo - Politicos just keep using the same old tricks of the trade.
