jayward
Sniper attack horror A TEENAGER today spoke of his horror after being shot in the head while delivering leaflets in Blackpool. Alexander O'Neil was working on Milbourne Street in the resort on Tuesday afternoon when he suffered the gunshot wound to the back of the head. And police say the injuries could have been far more serious. Pain The 17-year-old was left with a pellet lodged in his head after the terrifying sniper attack which police believe came from inside a nearby building. He said: "If I had my head turned slightly to the left when they shot, it might have hit me in the temple and I might not be alive today. "I was walking down the street and felt a sharp pain in the back of my head and my ears started ringing. "I thought 'what was that?', put my hand to the back of my head and when I pulled it away it was covered in blood. "I felt the pellet lodged in the back of my head and eventually managed to get it out." The attack took place just before 3.30pm. Police today said the attack appeared to be unmotivated but had left Mr O'Neil, of Snowdon Avenue, Blackburn, shaken up by his experience. He added: "I hadn't even knocked on any doors along that street so it's not like I had bothered somebody." Now police hope Mr O'Neil's brave stance will encourage others to come forward and give up those responsible. Serious Sgt Chris Ronson said: "Because it was getting dark and we believe the pellet was shot from inside one of the buildings on that stretch of street we don't really have anywhere to go. "We are hoping that by this young man coming forward somebody locally may know someone who has an air rifle. "They should not hesitate to come forward and tell police what they know because this incident could have been much more serious than it was." i cant genuinely believe the response from the police im going to hold my tongue on this .... SAVAGE HMR
Hearing **** like this really makes me sick. Some **** with a cheap Chinese air rifle he bought online shooting at people walking on the street. A wee while ago it was some poor wee toddler that got it in the head but he wasn't so lucky. These people shouldn't be locked up, they should have the utter **** kicked out of them by the family's of the victims. What possible motivation is there to shoot some poor kid in the back of the head when he's just walking down the street minding his own business? I know it would make things awkward on a lot of people who currently use air weapons but I think there should be some sort of Air Weapons License brought in to action. Scum like that shouldn't have access to air weapons so easy. I mean if that guy wanted to pick up a bottle and smash it over the back of that guys head then fair enough, not much could stop him but it sounds like he doesn't have the balls to do that. He prefered a cowardly attack from a distance. It's **** like this that gives other air gunners and air weapons a bad name. Only it's the violent scum that are the problem. This is the future for britain as I see it, I am soon gonna get out and leave this country and hopefully one day when something happens that make this country great again I may return. But I dont see that happening cause its going to the dogs. What we need is a peasants revolt.

So the police are encouraging people to inform them of anyone who happens to own an airgun now??? Some of the recent council tax funded police newsletters also really got my back up. Almost telling people that they should not let their children use Airguns full stop ! What they should be saying is to contact local clubs so their children can learn to use and shoot air-weapons in a safe, responsible manner. In an environment where they can legally do so. The police seem to be wording it as much as they can to imply to parents that under 18's cannot legally use air-guns full stop. Which as we all know is simply not true. No different to the school teachers who tell rural children that the rabbit they shot with their Dad at the weekend was a cruel and horrible act. Usually in front of the whole class to try to embarrass the kid further when, all he/she has done is legally perform pest control on private land under proper supervision. But that's Politically correct schools for you; they never like me wearing Countryside alliance pins on my blazer when i was still at school but I choose not to listen... mr_colt. My school jacket is sporting a few badges BASC Young Shots, Barbour a shooter and a ferret. Infact technically it's not my school jacket, its my shooting jacket I just prefer it. It's brilliant watching the chavs heads turn when you walk past in a wax jacket. As for a teacher making a comment, I'm very good at arguing. Lord Geordie
This is VERY reminiscent of the incident that happened to me!!! Trouble is it was NOT a cheap Chinese copy I was shot with it was a well renowned full power air rifle!!!! I am going back MANY moons ago and ended in Hospital having the pellet removed. It was lodged behind my Jaw Muscles near the left temple and if it wasn't for the deflection off the skull THAT could have been nasty. I don't blame the Kid for what happened I blame the Parents who BOUGHT the lad the gun and obviously failed to teach the kid the correct and responsible way in which it SHOULD have been used. To be fair most of todays problems lye fundamentally with the parents and the upbringing of the child though I DO recognise a genuine handfull of parents who DO try but fail. I see it round here every day and recently saw a 14 year old shooting the street lights out with an Air Pistol It's a wide spreadf problem where parents toss the kids out and don't give a flying fig about what they are up to as long as the parents get their bit of peace. Kids riding Mini moto's round the estate stealing cars setting fire to wheely bins this was almost unheard of when I was young though it seems all the norm to the new generations. It's very sad to see the country turning like this but to be fair until there is more donw to combat the problem at it's source then there is little likly hood of this getting any better. LG Well said I bet the parents have not a job either. It just so amazing how they get the money together to buy them these air rifles for them. And I think that all children that commit crimes should go to a special boarding school a bit like prison but where they can learn stuff and get qualifications. Because the ones under 16 get let off with everything they do, once they get a taste of crime it will be hard for them to get them off later in life.
