Jonno i'm using a Casio Exilim EX-s880 they are brand new out and take some great pics. They have all the gizmo's built in, face recognition, filters, best shot, anti jog, etc and also take good Quality video that you can load direct from the camera straight to You Tube.

All the pics I put up recently have been taken with it.

I recently bought a Canon IXUS 900 Ti, for a small compact its the beezs neezs, it has a titanium casing and as like most of these modern digitals theres not much that they cant do. I used to lug around the old canon F1 ( BLOODY HEAVY} now i just slip the digital in my top pocket. The trouble is that there are so many on the market, and all pretty simular it can be quite dificult to get what you want.

Anyway i plumbed the 900Ti.

Some info on it here.

Jonno, there is a cracking one for sale on the BBS for £100

Try Here - http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233311

if i wasn't saving for my new 223, i'd have it in a heartbeat

:welcomeani: That is a good camera and not too technical either, I have the older powershot A80 and it cost 2x that much just a few years ago.

I hope to upgrade to the canon EOS 40D soon, and can`t fault the canons at all.

remember running costs ,rechargable batteries for some models very expensive and you will need extra set .same with mem cards, plenty of bargains about.i prefer a slr digi myself ,yes bigger but better features.

I agree - I run digital slr also :welcomeani: - but maybe tooexpensive for what the guy needs

Not what your after but it's worth considering a DSLR.

I think they are better to use. No time delay when you press the button and thats what really ****** me off with my compact.

I have a Nikon D50 and you can get them for about £250 now. I paid £400. Pictures are really good. Dont get sucked into the trap that a lot do thinking that the the more pixels the better the camera.

SLR's are bigger but if you can cope with that it's wirth getting one.

I recently bought this camera

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fuji-FinePix-Digit...2168&sr=8-1

the model is about a year old now and is 6.5 mp. As someone who used to do a lot of photography with an SLR camera, I wanted to still be in control of things like aperture and depth of field etc. This camera allows you to do so - or just leave the camera to do it for you. It isn't a compact - nor is it a full Digital SLR - but it is in the ground between both. I've not taken an awful lot of pictures with it yet but I'm well pleased with the results. If I can work out how to post them - I'll put up some pictures so you can judge for yourself. Very good price at the moment £150 ish - considering when it first came out it was well into the double hundreds.

Pushkin
