What do we have here then?

This morning after collecting the dogs from kennels I had a drive round and found these four fields with pigeons on.

They were all poor rape which had been sprayed and then topped. The result is a double whammy of pigeon food, rape seed and fresh green rape shoots on the old stalks.

nice when recon throws up opportunity for a few struggling to access barley our luck changed yesterday farmer mowed poor field of wheat for whole crop now have our first stubble of the year

But if it's been cut for the whole crop, will there be any food left to attract pigeons? (apart from the weeds) I'm hoping for thunder to knock some winter barley over but none forecast. This new-fangled short-straw stuff is too robust!
