Teal
Saw a farmers market in london today and had to smile when I saw the prices. £3.50 for a rabbit and £4 for a brace of pigeon! :yp:

ollie
They must be making some profit on them at that price

philapper
I had pigeon in London for dinner while at a conference, poached in port with redcurrants and capers :yp: YUM YUM £27.50 Well the company was buying, but I couldn't help but feel ripped off when my local dealer only coughs up 40p a bird!!! WE SHOULD MAKE A STAND!!! (They probably buy em in France anyway!!)

ernyha
but I couldn't help but feel ripped off when my local dealer only coughs up 40p a bird!!! ONLY 40p? The best i have ever got is 25p for fresh birds and for the last 3 years it has only been 15p fresh and 10p frozen. :yp:
philapper
He might give 40p a bird but he only takes the woodies and only the plump ones. Out of a 50 bag, he might have 20 if i'm lucky. The rest get de-breasted and frozen. He has any rabbits for a £1-£1.50 depending on size. He sells for £3.50 but as long as it pays for the cartridges I'm not too bothered. Elma Fud
I live in Oxfordshire. Does anyone know of a gamedealer that will take frozen birds. Will travel to neighbouring countys if need be. Thanks Elma
ernyha
Elma the dealer i have to use is in Northamptonshire but he only pays 10p for frozen and rarely more than 15p for fresh. This means i have to have a good load of birds just to cover my fuel. :yp:
Browning
Elma, Ern, I live on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire/Northamptonshire borders, and could only dream about having enough birds to take to a dealer. They must be bypassing my land to get to yours. :(
