Dave at kelton
I have the above which is sloppy when open. It is tight when closed so I am perfectly happy with its safety. Does anyone have experience of tightening these up? thanks
old'un
Not familiar with the gun but you can tighten the forend up by shiming the forend iron or moving some metal where arrowed by hammering with a punch, easy to-do. If you wish to see the results of doing the above you can use some folded baking foil but ideally some metal shim would be better or as I said, move some metal, it wont take much to tighten the gun up. It's a good way of tightening the fore end. It's been done for donkeys years. Even seen it done by my first gunmaking employers in London where I served my apprenticeship.
