Well looks like I’m the cat amongst the pigeons here..

I won’t lie to any of you, I just don’t like pigeons..full stop!

I like all the other birds that come to the garden, even beautiful crows, the pigeon I utterly dislike, they just eat eat eat and eat, then mess everywhere all over decking furniture, patio areas, bird baths even washing hung out to dry. Just vile disgusting disease ridden vermin

We do have conifers in the back garden, without counting I’d say 30-40 leylandii all 20-25ft.  There are loads of birds nesting in those including pigeons, they are not interfering with our outside family social area at the front of the house, so I leave be, but I wasn’t prepared to let them nest directly above the patio table. The nest was never formed, twigs, leaves and wot not were scattered daily as they tried to build on a pair of crossed branches. I simply shook the branch or poked with a broom then binned. I could have waited until they had completed then binned, but I wanted to deter them and my plan worked. No harm to pigeons and we got our social area back - actually sat here now typing this with my wife who’s reading her book.

No offence intended but I think you should all wind your necks in a little.

Oh and btw, I have never shot or killed ANY wild bird or animal, I shoot targets or tin cans, or heads off matchsticks at 25yds.. great fun. Not hurting anyone or anything. From what I see on this forum most of you are hypocrites, one pp admits to shooting pigeons most of his life!!

Marshman -“ Pigeon shooting  have been my passion for most of my life my back garden“

Now he’s acting ambassador for the pigeon 😂

My conscience is clear thank you very much.

Oh dear, probably not the forum for you in that case.

There's none that respect a bird or animal more, than those that pursue it.
