We have got several members who shoot around that way , Big Al being one of them , maybe one of them will get in touch , failing that , see if you can find any wildfowling club on line that shoot that area . GOOD LUCK

I just clicked on to wildfowling clubs around Lough Neagh and six different clubs came up , try it and then go on from there , I very much doubt any wildfowling club will be taking on new members with only one day to go before the season start , if this is your third year into shooting you should have had plenty of time to get somewhere sorted out by now , you need to send these clubs emails and get on the phone to there member who run the membership side , you can easily find there number by clicking on to whatever club you are interested in and fill in a online form , it shouldn't be that difficult to get the ball rolling . Old Boggy
Sadly I thought that I’d seen that Lough Neagh was again this year subjected to loads of toxic algae which may hamper the duck shooting there as it did for Big Al for a while last season. Hopefully it will clear. OB

OB HI Chris Funny enough the Broads Authority reported a big area of Barton Broad today have got the Blue / Green outbreak of Algae , the vets strongly advised to keep dogs out , if they swallowed any as it could kill them within 12 hrs , scare'y stuff , I think ours is due to the recent high temps and the lack of rain . But mostly the result of eutrophication.

Darren I shot the eastern shore for years but give up the ducks 2 seasons ago There’s multiple clubs around the lough you can contact depends where you live and what area suits you You also have the option of contacting shaffsbury estate which has hides in or at the edge of the water and ask them but the problem there is if you get a hide it’s up to you to organise excess with the farmer to walk over he’s land to access the lough shore Most duck clubs around the lough will want you to have your own dog or access to a gun dog To be honest there’s a few areas with some good duck numbers but a lot of the lough there’s not many duck about And take into account the severity of the algae which is dangerously high and can kill dogs etc I’m not trying to put u off but any well run club is very hard to get into there’s some other clubs which are not what they say Good luck I know how frustrating it can be when you’re starting off Edited September 6 by Gerry78
