Compost Heap

I was boiling all of mine until I saw this trick and then swapped over. All good apart from the skin which  stays attached. Unfortunately my compost attracts foxes so I have to make sure they are well covered and secure otherwise they disappear.

Oowee if you let the rain get to the skin it will  peel off or soak in a bucket of water to soften the skin

I put the last few in a bucket then jet washed them. Prior to that I uncovered them left them on the top and they disappeared. 🤣 I don't bother with them now as I have no need for them. I once got some medal heads measured and after I thought why did I bother with that. They are now screwed to the door of an allotment shed.

Surprising what a good compost heap can do in 6 weeks now to whitening it up then mount it on a plaque

Lol you won’t whiten that. All the grease has gone into the bone. Nice buck like that worth the £40 to prepare it professionally.

Woth my recent fallow I just hung the head in a plastic bag from a tree for a few months 🤣 lovely and clean but I left it a bit too long and the corners of the antlers went a bit green 🤦‍♂️🤣

That's a cracking head that.

I thought I'd try the 'pint of maggots from the fishing shop' trick on a red stag a few years ago.  I tucked it in a box under the external central heating oil tank and forgot about in....until the boss commented on the number of bluebottles in the house for November.  My poker face obviously isn't very good and she sussed I was up to something straight away.  Turns out there was an air brick next to the head and the rest is history.

I'm not allowed anywhere near the fishing shop now 😀
