It's certainly not rounded like my Rebar (above), but I'm guessing its just milled out parallel, not bevelled edges.

Might be the angle of the 2nd picture,,,, looks slightly bevelled to me, but could be wrong 🥸 I think a definitive date of manufacture would help ? 🤷♂️ Certainly got us all thinking 🤔 😀
39TDS
Fa from convinced about using the blade in that way as it is completely impractical on some of my knives but the function of the notch is to assist in removing the insulation from wire. Not claiming I'm definitely right, but that's how my thinking goes. The Leatherman stripper I have (also the Rebar and pictured earlier) has a very bevelled edge and tapered V shaped notch. Ditchy's one would onlt work for very thin wire. The Swiss Army type stripper shown in 39TDS video seems to work - but the notch is only an insulation 'puller' and does no cutting - hence no bevelled edge. JKD
Looking at the 2nd couple of pictures [on page 2] again,,,,, there is a notch the other side which a metal 'band' goes into to keep the screwdriver open ??. When closed, does the questionable notch have something similar to keep it closed ? 🤷♂️ Edited September 28 by JKD

You are right! I therefore withdraw my suggestion of a 'nail notch'. It is on the wrong side for that.

Not sure bout Ditchy's?

JohnfromUK
Perhaps it is either; A wire stripper that can be used to assist opening ....... or ...... An opening 'nail notch' that can be used to remover ringed insulation.
